Persian CD

Here is an oddity, we went to Westfield in Shepherds Bush yesterday in order to check out the MI Store. Xiaomi's equivalent apple store for their phones and stuff.  We wanted a decent phone case for the new phone but they didn't do cases at all.

Being a wasteland of hi end luxxe stores and other unedifying stuff we decided to look out onto the main high street and see what charity stores there were.   I got a horrible synth pop album which I ended up turning off halfway through and this Persian boi.

Inlay with performer list.
It seems to be a style of traditional, instrumental Persian music played on Arabic instruments and they are pretty damn cool.  Its both instrumental and sorrowful at the same time, also the tracks themselves are pretty long, nothing under 10 minutes here.  I don't know if would be traditional to do this but would definitely a vocal track in places.  Maybe a dude lamenting lost love, or woes in life.

There are four tracks here, so without further ado I'll add what I believe to be name, style, and list of performers.

Marvel(lous) Round Up

Recently subbed to out of context Beavis and Butt-head, on Twatter and found out that the comics I had as a teen were released by Marvel.

To be fair my comics stuff in the 90's was limited to the Beano, the Dandy and latter X-Files magazine.  I really didn't get much into comics and stuff as I was far more interested in gaming as a whole than reading about Spiderman and the X-Men.

True, I know who most of them were but its more in the context of what game they were from rather than what comic they debuted in. FYI Marvel VS Capcom series is the best MCU film never created.

Anyway the comics themselves weren't bad, if a little off from the show itself.  I still have my vote Cornholio window sticker, and I have a sneaking suspicion that some of these were bootsale finds.

Anyway here are some front cover scans from the UK edition.
And that's yer lot.
Also on a nineties vibe here, as well, is a documentary about the notorious Snes game Hong Kong 97 just in case you want to kill 1.2 billion fuckin' ugly reds.

Deadpoof2

First of all, I'd like to say that the Tower Treasure has been finished and proof read, and is included here for your reading pleasure. The next book will probably be one of the PDF proof edits, as its much less work than the typing exercise I currently do, for book edits. Incidentally we have Shortwave mystery on order from yankland so fingers crossed on that.

Feature Presentation Deadpool 2.

I'm really not a film fan nor much of a Marvel Comics fan either, so as there was football on TV last night decided to watch this on Sky, as the first Deadpool was my favouite of the Marvel series.

I think what made the original fun was the deadpan humour and the ability to fuck every other sentence to give a sort of realness that super hero movies lacked. Also seeing as Marvel has got woke we now have to put up with bollocks such as cultural appropriation jokes and jokes of racism and sexism in the sequel which as you can tell pissed on my chips.

I'd tell you the plot but its largely him joining the x men and getting put in the slammer called the ice box with a fat kid who can shoot fire from his fists.  Oh and there's Juggernaut from Marvel Vs Capcom and a few other dudes including Terry Crews as Bedlam and Cable also from Marvel VS Capcom 2 complete with his big fuck off gun, who returns from the future to stop fat kid from killing his wife and kids.

Its not bad, at this point, there are a few laboured quips and a few chuckle worthy jokes and then shit goes down, and fat kid and the Jug escape with Deadpool and Cable who hates him, in hot pursuit.

He assembles a team of mutants and Pete a regular Joe.  Most get killed in a paragliding incident apart from Domino who is A. lucky and B. pretty cool.

But the PC junk creeps in, the X Force is described as a gender neutral X men team. A black criminal gets killed by Cable (a really unsympathetic cunt he is as well honestly cable did him a favour.) and he gets branded a racist for the rest of the film due to this.  Oh and Teenage Niggertronic Warehouse is now a lesbian, but its OK as it fits her character and her GF is kinda cool too (hi Wade.).

Due to fat kid being tortured at weird academy him and the Jug go there to kill the headmaster and blow shit up.  Deadpoof goes there and a big fight ensues.  Its really gets underwhelming at this point, its supposed to be cool but isn't, and that's the whole problem with it, its supposed to be cool but somehow doesn't come off.   Worse there a few dubstep references and all they play is (Aids) Skrillex.  I asked for a Burial but all I got was brostep  instead.

All in all its good but not the original good.

Chums

Been working through the original Tower Treasure and am now reading Missing Chums for fun before transcription.  Yeah, I know I can just scan this using OCR, but the print job is quite ropy in places so you'll still need to proof read before you submit.

Incidentally would love this as its the kind of deep investigation that my robot mind craves, bur it's expensive and also murican.

Also have reached a part in Chums where Aunt Gertrude appears, lets just say that she is a much more unhinged in the original books.  She would definitely call the manager, that is a given.

Misc bits

A round up of sorts. with some bits and pieces I've come across in the past few days and weeks.
Mostly its to do with the phone I found, and such. But there are some bits from the transcription which may appeal to people.

Tower Treasure progress.

Currently 10 chapters in on transcription and have finished the revised edition these past few days.  I can say that there are parts of the book that are better than the original and parts that are worse.

Worse bits.  Include, Oscar Smuff being casually racist toward a poor Italian american grocer, Slim Robinson's dad having a secret gardening hobby, and a killer hobo added in the finale.

Better bits.  Include a reasonable explanation to Henry's debt (ish, its still pretty dumb mind), and the boys prank to stop Smuff is changed to a wild bonfire instead of a bomb threat from the black hand.

Oddly enough though the main story stays the same, including the reward money and the slang terms Smuff comes out with. That includes one thousand Iron Men which is a bugger to search for now the Marvel Universe is in full swing. This does not apply to one Tony Stark but instead to the silver dollar coin, rather than the notes instead.

In both the original and the revised edition he says this, which makes even less sense seeing as the coins have never been popular enough, with people apparently using the notes instead.

MI5 Stuff.

Been using this instead of my regular phone now I have googles lock busted off it.  We got a cheap pay as you go chip from evil everywhere, and am using that to do stuff now.  Will have to get a proper case for it as the one I have is open,  Both my old phones have a wallet style case which is useful.

Any way some stuff I found out,  there are some lights at the bottom either side of the home button which are used to navigate back and close programs.  Its not super intuitive but hope it helps.  Loving the camera mind, so have some photos as a treat.
